Hi Blog World! I have been extremely busy! During the holidays, I took a break from the world of "wedding planning", but I looked at a calender one day and suddenly I realized I had under 200 days to go! (as of today 134 days..Yiikkeesss) I thought to myself " I better get busy". So, I spent a week trying to catch up on all the things that I haven't gotten to already. During this time, I had to think outside of the box becasue I love being different and I was also trying to catch back up finacially. The holidays took a chunk out of our wedding budget! Needless to say, God will always provide..so I didn't stress. I just took a walk around different stores to see what I could find! 150 glass tea light holders...purchased from a knottie "kaykay". I think I paid $30 bucks..I also got 6 glass cylinders as well (sorry, no pic yet)

I know, I know...why is my bird cage card holder blue and not purple?! LOL Well, this was the only color Marshalls Homegoods had, so I purchased it and added it to my fiance's list of "things to do". He is going to get it professionally painted for me either a metallic pearl white or a metallic purple...who knows!?...Cost.. VERY AFFORDABLE!

My lovely ivory Nina Shoes. yup..I fell into the pit of loving Nina Shoes..guess what..they were only $54 at Macys!!!!! These bad boys usually run $99 and up on the nina website, or zappos..but I caught them on sale!!! Last pair in my size!! Yayyy meeee!

My cute little flower girl baskets... $3 bucks a piece at Michaels'! i'm going to jazz them up closer to the wedding.

My ring bearer box and accessories box. I found them both at Marshalls Home goods. There was no way I was passing these up! They just caught my eye! The big box..I am going to put my jewelry, shoes and maybe my veil..not sure. But it ran me $12 bucks! The little cute box..well its not really a ring bearer box, but it is for my wedding. I purchased this for about $6 bucks! You can't tell, but both boxes are ivory and are decked out in crystals which reflect color. I love it!

Cake!! Yummy!! So this is a pic of knottie "KayKay's cake...Gorgwous right! I am going to use this as inspiration because I would love this romantic look with purple, pink and orange roses. My cake will be 4 tier, 4 flavors...red velvet, lemon, pineapple and chocolate. We just couldnt decide on one flavor..so why not 4! LOL My cake was ordered at Hollies Bakery in Redford Mi...cost us about $400 bucks

Wow!! I feel TERRIBLE! It has been an entire month since I last posted! Well, I was on "wedding planning strike" I was just tired of planning, talking about planning and yeah..PLANNING! But now I am back and refreashed!!!

This blog is dedicated to my awesome finace and all the other groom and groomsman out there. It seems so unfair that majority of the wedding world is centered around the bride! But, you know what..TE GROOM MATTERS TOO!
I think grooms are okay with it, heck, I don't think they even have a choice!

Anyway, right now I am focusing on my groom to be and his groomsman. We kind of want to stay away from the traditional look... you know, the all black tuxedo, black vest and white shirts. We want to be a bit unique.
Below, I have some pics of different styles and trends I really like. Tell me what you think???

So Excited!! All of my girls have placed their deposit on the bridesmaids dresses. Wow, that means we can't call it off now! LOL Just kidding. That's not even an option. It feels great to get things off my check list. Another awesom check is that I have placed my deposit on my dress! However, I am still deciding between two dresses, so I can't completly knock this off my to do list, but getting the money out of the way is great! I'm going to post some beautiful pictures of Bridesmaid dresses and wedding gowns.

Happy Planning!!

Yes! it is very possible to have someone design a dress, a brooch, jewlry, or anything else and still be on a budget!! I was researching brooches and I found myself finding brooches that were either too expensive, or just not what I was looking for. I asked my "knottie girls" about looking for brooches and that was when I was introduced to a custom made heavenly site: www.etsy.com..
(shouts out to my knottie friend Mink!!)

This site allows you to search for almost anything that a person might want custom made. I searched for brooches and was referred to a designer named "Tipsy Whimsey". She is great! I sent her pictures of what I wanted and within one week she created 2 brooches for me.

Now, the fun part...adding them to my gorgeous purple slik shoes (see picture below).

Cost of Brooches: $23 (including shipping)
Cost of shoes : $23
Total: $46 bucks!
